Marketel Systems CEO Ngee Cau visits American Teleservices Association's Conference

MarkeTel Systems' CEO, Mr. Ngee Cau, was invited to be a guest speaker at the American Teleservices Association's (ATA) 5th Call Center Technology Forum in New York on April 2, 2009. Mr. Cau presented a case study to demonstrate MarkeTel's technology can substantially increase productivity, reduce cost, and improve revenue generation for any contact center business. Maximizing talk time
Regina, SK-based MarkeTel Systems Ltd. also welcomes the DNC roll out “as we have had the technology to automatically scrub against national DNC since day one of incep­tion in the USA,” says CEO Ngee Cau. “Our technology will give the telemarketers ease of mind and prevent them from paying any penalty. Our biggest differentiator is in the ‘first hello’ technology, meaning there is no pause, no delay.”

The company is just now releasing its newest predictive dialler. Called the Pursuit Advanced Telephony Server, it is described as a task-focused predictive dialler that can inte­grate with digital, analog or VoIP phone lines. The PBX and predictive dialler “is designed to be able to take the place of our current prod­uct, MKII, but with the ability to scale in size, capability to connect to analog, T1 and VoIP, and expandability for more functionality,” Cau says.

Intended for contact centres of all sizes, in­stallation involves connecting Pursuit to the manager’s computer via an Ethernet connec­tion and plugging the operator stations and phone lines into the ports on the telephony card located at the back of the server. Com­munication between Pursuit and Prospector, its controller software, is accomplished over a TCP/IP network, giving the option of hav­ing the Pursuit dialler on-site or stored in a remote location.

Pursuit also gives the choice of having computers or just a telephone in front of operators. Using MarkeTel’s patented keytone entry technology, operators can log on and off the system and enter results for each call by using the telephone keypad on their SIP phone. Caller information is displayed on the telephone’s LCD, enabling operators’ to see all pertinent information.

Prospector Officially Launched!

MarkeTel held its first Open House Wine and Cheese Event to officially commemorate the launch of its new and advanced predictive dialer controller software, Prospector.

    MarkeTel is excited with the arrival of our new CEO, Mr. Ngee Cau. Mr. Cau comes to us from Shanghai, China where he was with Microsoft (China) Ltd. in the Global Outsourcing Team. Prior to Microsoft he was with Nortel Networks based in Hong Kong and Vancouver, Canada.

    Mr. Cau obtained both his Bachelor of Commerce and International MBA degree from the University of British Columbia. He began his career in the high tech industry at Nortel Networks in Vancouver, BC. He started out as a Sales Specialist in charge of Operator Services including TOLL, 1-800, Directory Assistance, and Intelligent Networks. His rapid advancement to Associate Account Manager drove the network management business, which managed optical networks, voice switches and wireless switches. Mr. Cau was then appointed to Hong Kong to manage the Asia Pacific business as a Market Development Manager and oversaw the end-to-end network management business in the Pacific Rim region. There, his duties ranged from increasing market share to providing customer support.

    A move to China to join Microsoft (China) Ltd. brought Mr. Cau a new perspective on the global market. While there, he demonstrated his drive for quality, robust process, and high standards. He was instrumental in developing Microsoft’s long-term outsourcing strategy in Asia, including improvements in vendor selection, vendor management, and contract management. Mr. Cau's visions for rapid growth and technical advancement are the same visions that MarkeTel has always embraced. His international reputation is the platform from which MarkeTel plans to advance the company's roots.

    Mr. Cau’s hands-on experience in business development and customer service, his working knowledge of North America and the Asia Pacific region, combined with his exposure to the telecomm industry make him the ideal leader to drive MarkeTel in its ambitious plans for expansion in the overseas markets.

    A problem has been confirmed with the importing multiple files function in the Skiplist Import command. This will affect any client running Rapid Contact versions 6.300 to 6.400. A workaround for this issue is to always select each file individually when importing. If multiple files are selected, the first file is imported properly, but the remaining files all ignore the first line when importing, which can cause a single record to be missed if field headers are not present. This means that if three files are selected for import, the possibility of a maximum of two numbers being missed is present. This will be fixed in the upcoming release of 6.401. Until then, please select each file individually to ensure that all skiplist numbers are properly added to the skiplist.

    With the recent change into Daylight Saving Time for 2004, a problem was noted in our timezone database for the current year. Please go to the support area and read the latest news item to download the update (this is only needed if you have timezone functions enabled in Rapid Contact). Simply place the downloaded file in your Rapid Contact installation directory, overwriting the file that is currently there (Technical Note: if you have individual state overrides set, you will need to re-enter each of these settings after the update).
